Foreshortened Selfies
AP Art Students were given the directive to create a selfie that had a foreshortened view. They were shown other student work for inspiration and asked to make sure this selfie depicted an aspect of their life that was important to them. They were to consider the Elements of Art and Principlines of Design such as line quality, value, movement, and in additon artistic license when accentuating their poses. The more extreme they were, the more visual impact they had.
Come Out From Behind Your Mask
Students from grades 9-12 were shown images of masks from cross cultural sources as a starting point for their explorations into the concepts that have fueled the making of masks. This research then inspired their thoughtful creations.
Find Your Art, Assemblage-Louise Nevelson boxes
Students explore Assemblage Art through a process similar to that done by Louise Nevelson. Form, shape, repetition, rhythm, and pattern will be some Elements of Art and Principles of Design they will explore. They will learn about the Found Art Movement and themselves create art using strategies Louise did herself.
