Art has enriched my life. By creating art you access a deeper understanding of yourself.  The process of creating involves not only a contemplation with your inner being and emotions but a feeling of connectedness with the world around you.  

I have been involved with art my whole life, whether creating it, going to museums, or reading about it.  I know how important it is to have art in your life. 

Becoming an advocate for art through teaching children in classrooms and in our communities is a goal of mine.  Art used alongside all curriculum in classes enhances a student's learning experience.  It creates situations that foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter and greater personal involvement. The importance of this cannot be stressed enough.  Children need art in their lives.
