  2. Evaluate teaching resources and curriculum materials for comprehensiveness, accuracy, usefulness and for representing particular ideas and concepts in clear and meaningful ways.
  3. Engage students in generating knowledge and testing hypotheses according to the methods of inquiry and standards of evidence used in the discipline.
  4. Model the use of the tools of the discipline through the inclusion of technology and create opportunities for students to practice the use of these tools.
  5. Incorporate knowledge of students' experiences in the planning, execution, and evaluation of learning experiences.

Students were first introduced to abstract art looking by looking at abstract artist. I introduced lesson by using a powerpoint and covering ways artist abstract their artwork. For this lesson students looked to Georgia O'Keefe and her style of abstraction. Using a still life students used a zoomed in point of view to abstract their art. They had to use their knowledge of Goergia O'Keefe and apply to their own art work. I create my own finished painting for the students understanding.

The lesson was introduced by power point and video of light sculpture artist. Students had to test materials and explore before making their final piece. They had to discover what materials, paper, reed, wire, or sticks would best fit their desired design. Students also did a mid-review to give feedback to peers. The final portion of the project was to present their partners light sculpture and fill out a self assessment-sheet.

Students previously finished a still life drawing. In this projects students used an object and looked at it from multiply perspectives. Students used their knowledge of drawing from observation and exploring new perspectives. After discussing a few of the design principles students would evaluate painting completion in each others.
