I spent the summer of 2014 at Med-o-lark the arts camp of New England. My job was I have to say one of the best; I was the teaching four classes of ceramics a day and an amazing period of sunshine out by the waterfront as a lifeguard. This camp was extraordinary and above my expectations, I was amazed at the camps diverness with 32 representing countries. In my cabin alone we had 15 girls, non-residents of Maine. I met children from all over the world, Egypt, Israel, Brazil, France, Italy, Russia, Spain, Canada and so many more countries. My experience here was unique and fulfilling, it was the first time I had ever been in a teaching position. Everything about the ceramics studio made me more excited about my future as a teacher. Spending my days in the studio with children ages ranging from 8-15 gave me perspective on classroom management. The studio was fun and enriching, with one art gallery showing at the end of the each sesion of all the students works. This was an amazing environment for me to be apart of for my first teaching experience.
