Display Board

For the month of February I volunteered to promote growth mindset. With the help of 4th and 5th grade students we were able to create an interactive piece for the school. Students that entered the lobby had the opportunity to plant a paper seed. On the seed students would write something that they did not know how to do “yet” and with dedication and practice they could watch their seeds grow.

As an Ed- Tech I have been in many classes, I however do not have the space or supplies of an art room. In adaption to this I asked these students to help me with the mural by sending them a note with a packet of animals and an example of my expectations. The 4th graders provided me with many creatures to incorporate in the mural. This project was a great example of teamwork and the power of art.

Coloring Books

I had the opportunity to implement an art project for a 4th grade class in my Ed Tech position.  In this particular class, the students spend their mornings coloring before announcements. I wanted to create a project for these students that applied to their routine and that also motivated them. I thought these students were spending so much time coloring from designs that were not theirs. I came up with the idea that student should be creating their coloring pages. I prompted students to draw a winter scene that would contribute to the class-coloring book. Each student would have their design in the book as well as their classmates.
