My sophomore year of College I was offered the position the community of arts Resident Assistant for Robie-Andrews Residential Hall. My role was building community on the floor and creating an exciting and fun environment for students that love the arts. Throughout the year we did various activities, coffee houses once a month, craft Monday’s, building wide door decorating contests, t-shirt tie dying, raising money for Heifer international, community garden and meditation nights. It was an exciting and interactive year, sharing and working together as a community to enrich our college experience.  I learned a lot about community and it’s importance. That year I was able to gain leadership qualities and find techniques for engaging with residents.
