Art is diverse, it challenges and weakens an individual. It is an area of schooling and life that I cannot see myself living without. Art has influenced the way that I interpret my surroundings and interact with my peers. Understanding the world visually has opened my eyes to the complexity of all things and especially all people. The human race is as diverse as art itself and that is something that makes it unique and special. It furthers my passion for teaching students and passing on the knowledge and happiness that I have received from art. It can be perceived both as private and public.
Art was a tool that helped me succeed in school along with challenging my ideas. I am passionate about art because it helped me find my way into being part of society. I have always been a natural caregiver and thus working with kids has come natural to me. Becoming independant at an early age has given me the confidence to take charge in a classroom or with a group of students. Through service work and receiving a higher education I realize that art education is where I want to go forward with my life and teaching middle and high school students would be a gift.
