Hilary Tobin was Born in Beverly, Massachusetts in 1982 and received her degree from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in 2001. After high school she Attended Maine College of Art from 2001-2003, with a focus in ceramics and sculpture. Leaving art school, she decided to continue her artistic exploration and education at Walker Creek Furniture in Essex, Massachusetts, where she worked and was trained as a furniture finisher from 2003-2005. She married in 2005 and later traveled to the Pacific Northwest. While there, she found herself as a volunteer teacher at the North Mountain Nature Center, and soon found a passion for teaching. In 2008, she moved back East and now resides in South Portland, Maine, where she recently has completed her BFA in art education at the University of Southern Maine.
