Upscale Art Lesson Plan
Big Idea: Community of learners creating a new piece of Art using other's artwork.
Sessions: Seven 45 minute Sessions
Grade Level: 3rd through 5th grade
Overview
Students will use Great Falls Dot Project and Village wooden panels to recreate an entirely new piece of artwork creating a collaboration piece that will engage Village School and the Gorham Community.
Lesson Objectives
Students will learn to work together, share their ideas through compromise and creativity to create a new upscale piece of art. (social skills and art methods)
Students will learn how to retell a visual story using recycled pieces to create space, composition, texture, form through the collage process. (process and methods of art)
Students will learn how to use their time wisely to meet one common goal. (social skills)
Students will learn to stay on task and problem-solve as a group. (social skills)
Students will learn that artists assist in building stronger connections in communities.(social skills)
