ART 151 – FINAL CRITIQUE

Clear the room and stack all easels to the side.

The class works in pairs to do installations of between 5 and 10 drawings on panels assigned by the instructor. The panels are divided by black masking tape.

Pick your strongest 5-10 drawings and consider ones that will hang well together in the designated space. Work together with your project partner to hang the work.

When the installations are complete, you will be asked to write a response to your partner’s installation.

Describe the work in the installation: subject matter, materials used, scale, use of value, line quality and so on.

Please describe the strengths of this work and suggestions for improvement.

What sort of drawing(s) can you imagine this person making next?

Each person will do a brief oral presentation about their partner’s work using the prompts above. At the end of the presentations there will be time for open discussion.

Everyone takes their work down, puts into portfolios. Final portfolios will be graded by Thursday of next week.
