Start your drawing with an HB pencil to get the underlying structure. Then, move to a 2B pencil. You may use an eraser to smudge out areas where your proportions are off. Think of it as a drawing tool, as opposed to something that gets rid of mistakes. It is ok to see the history of your drawing; it doesn't need to look absolutely pristine. It should look like you went through an honest process of seeking out the proportions and indivdiual features of the sitter.
Sign and date the back. Be sure to keep everything for your portfolio.
Put post instruction drawing up by pre instruction drawing; assess the difference.
