Artifacts:
1) USM Art Education Exhibition 2015-I participated in this culminating show that sought to present the Art Ed. department as both art makers and teachers of art. I chose to represent this connection through digital photos that I have taken over the last two years of my time as an Art Ed. student and as an intern at various schools and organizations. I have worked for years in film photography, developing my own photos in a dark room, and documenting my work and life through digital photography. In my work for this exhibition I wanted my experience to read as parts of story. I photographed projects in process, the space in which the projects were created, action shots of students at work, and the final projects.

2) Book Making- This year of student teaching I have learned various forms of book making from mentor teachers. In Art Ed. class I learned how to make a folded paged book out of one sheet of paper. During my internship at Casco Bay High School, Mrs. Richard taught me how to make a tunnel book, as well a pamphlet book and how use coptic sewing when book binding. During my internship with Mrs. Villani I learned how to make a simple accordian book. Finally, I learned how to make a "travel book" from SidexSide that enables a character to travel through different pages.

3)Consultant at Portland Museum of Art-SidexSide hired me to work with an intern and lead a work shop after a film was shown at the PMA for the Children's Film Festival. We had a table setup with supplies and examples and participants could come and make a book. We also set up a poster on an easel with step by step directions to reinforce our teaching. There were different materials available for book making: pencils, sharpies, colored paper, glue sticks, scissors and ribbons.
